Everyday Face : Made Up #1

From day-to-day my make up doesn't change too much. I switch up the eyeshadow's I use or the colour of eye liner - mainly between a black or a brown - or the type of eyeliner I use - gel, liquid, kohl etc - but the base mostly remains the same. Unless I am feeling adventurous, that it.

Recenetly these have been my go to products to achieve my over eye lined, nude face, glossy lipped look.

Face:  My face never really changes too much. Sometimes I will change the product I use but I never stray too far away from the same shades. Light, pinky toned blushes & a subtle contour. Since discovering the Healthy Mix range, it has been the only foundations I have used for as long as I can remember. Hey if it ain't broken, don't fix it!

ourjois Healthy Mix foundation (Shade 53) and Healthy Mix concealer (Shade 52) Contour with Rimmel Smoked Oyster blusher and add a little healthy glow with Bourjois Beach Bloom blusher. If I am setting my make up then I will use either Rimmel Stay Matte in Shade Warm Beige, Bourjois Healthy Mix powder in 52 or Sleek Luminous Pressed powder in 02.

Eyes:  This is where I can get a bit more adventurous of sorts well more adventurous than my base!  I love playing around with different toned eyeliners and eye shadows as well as adding some spikey falsies if I am feeling particularity glam! I favourite kind of eyeliner is without a doubt a soft deep black kohl that allows me too smudge it with black eyeshadow or shades of brown. I am all about the smudgey-ness. Some people say it is a bit much for day time but I like it and without it I feel naked. It isn't a full on smokey eye but it isn't subtle.

Sleek Eau La La eye pencil in black, MUA Brown eyebrow pencil, MUA Undressed palette, Rimmel Black eye shadow, Revlon Grow Luscious mascara in black, YSL Faux Cils in black

Lips: I sometimes venture into bold lip territory but not too often. I tend to stick to a milky, glossy lip or a matte nude. Currently I have been hopping between three products: Natural Collection lipgloss in Rasperry Ripple, Niviea lip balm in caramel cream and Superdrug I love... Strawberries and Milkshake lip balm.

If/when my make up routine changes I will do another one of these just as a way of keeping up to date with whats on the old mug!

Empties

I mostly focus on fashion on Erratic Glamour but I buy & try a fair amount of beauty products so I thought I would keep a few empties each month - not the boring every day stuff like deodorant etc - and talk about how I found them. So here goes!

Garnier Soft Essentials Comforting Toner
This is the Rose extract version which is specifically for dry skin something which I have struggled with for as long as I can remember ... boo hoo! I really love this range as it removes all my make up quickly & gives my skin a nice clean feeling without leaving a heavy residue plus it couldn't be anymore readily available really, from Boots to your local Tesco stock this range so easy to get hold of as well as being affordable. Once my Olay products run dry I will definitely be looking to this once again.

Clinique High Impact Mascara
My Granny gave me this sample sized Clinique mascara when I was home over Christmas & of course I used it religiously so this little tube of loveliness dry. I would 100% consider buying a full size tube of this when my Faux Cils runs out as it gives a lovely long, full look to the lashes without being clumpy. Winning.

Marks & Spencer Floral Collection Magnolia Shower Cream
This stuff is my favourite scent ever. It is floral without being too much & is a really nice moisturising product.  I got this in a set with some talcum powder - love this too - and some bubble bath. I am 100% going to repurchase this as I can see no flaws with it at all. It is just my favourite!

Boots Botanics Hydrating day cream All bright with SPF 15
Another buy it on a whim product that turns out to be something I really, really love. I bought this when it was on offer (I think the range is still on offer) as I needed a new face cream. This gives all day mositure while adding a subtle, healthy glow. I am really enjoying the Botanics products now after the re-brand they had not so long ago.

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body butter
I love these body butters regardless but sweet lemon was a new scent for me, I normally stick to the shea butter what a bore! This was a nice surprise, it isn't overly powerful scent wise & does the job perfectly. I can't complain about this one either. If I ever feel adventurous again in terms of body moisturiser scents then sweet lemon will get a look in!

A few, well actually, all these products I would buy again for sure.

Skincare Favourites

Photobucket

Following my realisation that a good skincare routine would be beneficial I turned to an old favourite that has seen me through some dark days, the products up for discussion are the Superdrug Vitamin E skin oil & Tea Tree Oil - both inexpensive & readily available products that do wonders for my skin.

After I've cleansed, toned & washed my face of the days make up & dirt, massaging in a generous amount of Vitamin E oil mixed with a few drops of Tea Tree oil into my skin make my skin feel loved. I look like an oil slick but that is not important as in the morning I wake feeling moisturised, smooth & best of all my skin feels deep down clean - I like to believe this is due to the Tea Tree oil. Both products are available in Superdrug up & down the country, I'm sure other places sell them too, & are priced at a pocket friendly £2.99 each. I should note both are normally on buy 2 for £3.99.

Whenever my skin is feeling a little dank & miserable this little potion works wonders & as  an added bonus make up application goes smoothly & hassle free the next morning. Winning.

What are you skincare saviors?

Trying out

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that recently I have been having trouble with my skin. For whatever reason my face has decided a spot party would be simply the best idea ever, I disagree.  I saw another blogger talking about Avene samples from the company's website so I decided to take up on the chance of trying some higher end skin care seen as a week today I turn the grand old age of ... 23 *weeps in hands*

I got a sample of Gentle gel cleanser and the Light hydrating cream, I am really looking forward to trying them out after hearing so many good things about them. Here is hoping I will wake up tomorrow morning with flawless skin ... I can live in hope!
