L I F E : S I X - F O R - S U N D A Y

1. Yesterday I finally got my haircut. Rocking a fringe with some length that I can wear down. I have got a full post about my new head of hair well it's not new hair but you know what I mean! I hope?! I won't spoil the surprise for y'all. That wouldn't be fun but if the anticipation is getting to much for you and you don't think you can wait till the day that I finally post the fore mentioned post then go have a peep at my Instagram. I cannot be blamed for any disappointment.

2. Gaslight Anthem has been my soundtrack for the week without a doubt. You can't beat a good Gaslight track. Lyrics with meaning, some guitar and Brian's husky lovely voice. Easy way to get my through my bus ride home from work. Every words handwritten, don't ya know!

3. Friday night involved a lads night with Clare. Lads night includes pizza and cider. We aren't hardcore enough for beer... one day we'll be true lads. One day... *sigh* Anyway, Clare is a YouTuber - Clare McBean - following my awkward experiment on the video platform that is, we decided to make a couple of videos together. This will probably be my first on my channel as I decided my old ones were too awkward, I hated my facial expressions and shat it! Basically. Go check out Clare though.

4. Following my Saturday haircut, myself and my Croc - private joke - Emma took ourselves out for eats. After trying 2 places - one was full, the other just plain manky - we took ourselves to Bar Soba on Hanover Street. An Asian mix with a cocktail menu that features some different and tasty mixes. The food was amazing and that is coming from a non-spice fan. Atmosphere was nice and my company was excellent as always. (I have to be nice about my friends now seen as they read this...)

5. My search for a new TV programme has hit an all time low. Where are all the good TV programmes?! All I'm asking for is some form of crime investigation, possibly an attractive male I can pretend is my boyfriend and possibly a little romance - between attractive male and probably equally as attractive female.

6. Sunday is going to be filled with not a lot. I love a lazy Sunday. Possibly jammies all day cause I'm that crazy and if I manage to find a good programme a good few eps of that...

Happy Sunday Cheekas!

Life: Six for Sunday

                                                Charlotte Square- Edinburgh

1. 2014 was brought in quietly - very quietly actually as I was asleep long before midnight - but due to a rather nasty infection going out and seeing the New Year in with my friends just wasn't going to happen. Instead I spent New Years Day with my parents, dog and my book! It was actually really lovely.

2. Edinburgh has adopted me. I came here 4, nearly 5 years ago for University, and fell in love. To the extent that I stayed. My little Instagram snap of the Christmas tree in Charlotte Square is a fitting tribute to the beautiful city.

3. Erratic Glamour had herself a little make over this morning. Something about the old layout, I just didn't like so I re-did. New Year and all!

4. My flatmate and I have decided to jazz up our living room a bit. Purely for the fact it is a bit plain. A few personal touches here and there to make it a bit more homely will pull it all together and I think probably make us want to spent most of our time in there. Ikea we're coming for you.

5. Being a Jane Austen fan of course when I caught wind of the newest take on Pride and Prejudice I would have to snapple it up. And I did. Longbourn by Jo Baker is the 'behind the scenes' story if you like. It details the daily occurrences of the Servants while Lizzie is upstairs swooning over Darcy. So far I have been totally sucked in.

6. Sherlock has returned to our screens *fan girl screams* I am a massive Sherlock fan. Every form of the man. Stories, films, TV programmes... The BBC adaptation is one of my favourites. Benedict Cumberbatch is just so good. Don't contact me from 8.30pm till 10pm tonight... episode 2 shall be getting devoured.

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Diary #19

1. Edinburgh is a beautiful city nonetheless but in the sun she really glows. All the colours of the buildings come out & it is just a beautiful place to be. I've been here 4 years in September and I am so happy and content here. Definitely a second home!

2. There is something about summery weather & Lana Del Rey. The two just go hand in hand perfectly. I can never get bored of her music. Or the sunny weather for that matter...

3.  Charity book shops are like a creche for me. Drop me off there go do your thing chances are I'll still be there perusing the shelves. This week I found the ultimate charity bookshop in Stockbridge. It was so good I had to talk myself out of a number of books and limit myself to just three...

4. Growing a pixie cut is still a pain staking process. It is  getting there ... sort of ... it is longer than it was before (Obviously) but it still isn't where I want it to be! Come on roaring 20s wavy bob.

Happy Sunday! I'm off to enjoy my first Sunday off in ages

Sundary Diary #18

1. University is officially over! The four years have seriously flown by so crazy to think about everything that has happened these past four year is just too much for my brain! I had an amazing time at university, it seriously is the time of your life so if you are lucky enough to still be at uni or going... enjoy it! Scary thing now is I need to find a full time job & work out what the hell I want to do!

2. Midnight in Paris might be my favourite film. It has everything I love Paris, portrayals of Hemingway and Fitzgerald and Marion Cottilard! Watch it if you haven't seen it. Paris looks beautiful - could it look any other way - and it features the 1920s!

3. Reading. The last 6 months or so at uni was so busy that I just didn't have time to read for pleasure so following the final hand in I settled down with a good read & just enjoyed it. Any book recommendations send them my way!

4. Getting to see ma mamma & dada. I went for home for just under a week to my Mum and Dad's house. I love going to my mum & dad's just to chill with the rents & my little pup. 5 nights, 4 day of doing not very much ... bliss!Lots of reading of Wolff Hall & Criminal Minds!

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Diary #17

Repping Paloma Faith before I get started on some uni work...

1. The end of uni is so very close. One more hand in & I am done! The excitement of what is to come is almost too much to take, I love change and new opportunities. Lets see what happens from now...

2. Growing out a pixie cut is a long, painful process - and I'm not far along the process. Everytime I tell people I tell people what I am planning they say "Noooo, don't do it!" I just want a nice little messy bob. All I am asking for!

3. I am still so into working out. I love doing at least a little bit of toning 6 days a week if I can't manage a whole workout. I have realised that I don't have to be overly obsessive about it however. It is okay to let loose a little & just do some extra work in my next workout!

4.I am considering giving up fake tan again partly because I watched Emma Pickles on Youtube and she looks so amazingly beautiful with her pale skin! Watch this space to see if it actually happens. Also go check out Emma Pickles, she is such a talented make up artist!

30 April 2013

Hello!

Long time no blog! University got crazy busy but things are starting to slow down now. Thankfully. Dissertation has been handed in - a massive, massive thank you to all the Twitter users that took part in my research. Very much appreciated. My exam was today so just one report due in a week on Friday and then I am done! University is over!

I definitely want to get back into blogging now things aren't as manic. I lost my love for it a little bit but after a break, it is back! I want to blog about more things rather than just fashion and clothes. That said... if you follow me on Twitter - Link - you will know that recently I have been on a little workout kick. I have always been into health & fitness since I initially lost about 3 1/2 stone when i was about 18/19. I have wanted to be really toned for summer so I took it upon myself to get it! I have been working out 6 days a week. Not major, high intensity workouts every time but a mixture of toning, pilates and cardio. Que a few workout wear related purchases...

These neon shorts are from the H&M sportswear range. I got Neon pink and orange but they have 3 other colours. I love them. So comfy & easy to chuck on to workout in. Plus a bargain of bargains at £7.99! Link to the shorts is here.

In other news, I am growing my hair out! I have had a very short pixie cut for a good few years now but I fancy a change. I want some hair! The aim is a messy bob ala Julianne Hough but for now it is at this stage...

photo 30-04-13_zpsc0330035.jpg My hair now, freshly cut to let it grow in in a nice way!

photo 18-03-12_zpsee482978.jpg My hair super short on the 18th of March. I actually can't believe how short it is.

Apart from that not too much has been happening! I cannot wait to get back into blogging and to reading blogs now that I have some more free time. Enjoy this bootiful spring night!

Sunday Diary #16

1. I haven't blogged in about 2 weeks for a variety of reason. Mostly uni work - the end is in sight - and I lost my lust for blogging but after a little break & getting a good chunk of uni work done, I think it is back.

2. Last week I went to my friends wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. She looked stunning & was a lovely day.  After the wedding I went home to my Mum and Dads for a week which was also lovely. I love going home!

3. I gave up fake tan a few months back after being a serial user. I like embracing the pale for a while but now I am embracing the tan. I love fake tan, as long as I am tanned and have eyeliner I am a happy Emma!

Happy Sunday! x

Sunday Diary #15

Late again...

1. It was my friends Hen weekend this weekend. Lucky she was having it in Edinburgh so I could go - even if I was late both nights. I had a top night and cannot wait for the wedding! All I have to do now is get through my shift at work. Wish me luck.

2. I have become totally addicted to Criminal Minds, I mentioned that I had started watching it last week, I seriously cannot get enough of it. Love it! Morgan is a baaaaabe! <3As is Spencer... got to love a smart guy.

3. I am considering growing out my hair a bit. Nothing drastic just a long, messy bob type of thing. I just want some hair to play around with! Grow hair, grrrrroooow.

4. Uni has been crazy busy. As I am sure you are all sick of hearing about but the end is getting closer and closer wooo hooo! I feel like recently all I do is post these posts but I just seem to have no time to blog interesting stuff. This week I am going to make an effort to get some blog posts done. Please complete my survey if you haven't already, it would be very much appreciated: survey link

Sunday Diary #14

1. Late again with this one... oops. I have an excuse, it is my normal standard excuse - I was hungover, very sleepy & couldn't bring myself to bash away at my little laptop to write this up but I am doing it Monday morning. It is becoming a habit...

2. Last week was a crazy crazy busy week hence no posting. After this week I will have 2 final assessments done so hopefully things should quieten down a little for a week or so. Maybe, please?! Speaking of uni work if you have a free 2minutes please fill out my short survey for my dissertation on fashion blogging: SURVEY also if you would be interested to do a short interview by email drop me a comment & we can sort something out.

3.  Criminal Minds might actually be my new favourite program. I love anything murder mystery-esque and this just plays on all my loves.  Perfect for my Snow Day today. Any excuse.

4. I love this picture. Such a perfect pass time... *sigh*

Sunday Diary #13

1. Another week another moan about working in retail. This week, a woman I had said nothing to & was simply trying to help told me to f*ck off & that this was f*cking ridiculous! Then told my Manager what I said was so bad it could not be repeated! Lies! Some people in this world are right nutcases!

2. In other more cheerful news, how nice has the weather been. Springtime is that you? I love Spring, March-May are my favourite months. I got to rock my new sunnies for the 1st time on Friday, this made me eternally happy.

3. I am off work this weekend - yay! - so I am having a lazy Sunday. Hence the photograph. Sometimes a lazy day is what is needed. Tomorrow my goal is to start running. I couldn't afford the gym anymore so I quit with the idea of taking up running but excuses come all too easily... tomorrow I will start. No matter how stupid I feel/look.

4.  I am doing fashion blogging as part of my dissertation topic so probably - hopefully - this week I will be starting my research. 4th year is heaps of work. HEAPS.

24 February 2013

Sunday Diary #12

1.  I desperately need a haircut but March is a busy month for night outs/events so I feel I should hold it off for at least a week... that is the thing with short hair, once it starts to grow out of it's shape it just looks like an awful hat! Never a good look...

2. I feel like I haven't blogged properly in ages. It is as if I have not time to take outfit pictures etc but this week I am going to really make the effort. I miss doing regular outfits, not that mine are ever that exciting but I like to post them!

3. I have a Birthday night out next weekend & am planning on recycling something I have already in my wardrobe. What exactly I have know clue! I have so many pieces that I have worn once & then never again. It is a waste of pretty clothes really.

4. Last night was my first Saturday night not out in at least a month! It is so nice to wake up not hung over, not regretting any actions/words of the night before and having enough sleep. Work might actually be easy today... Watch this space.

Happy Sunday! x

Sundary Diary #11

 *Image from Pinterest

Sundary Diary on a Monday again but I was too tired last night from my Saturday night partying & work yesterday so I'm afraid Sunday Diary on a Monday is what it has to be...

1. I went to the theatre this week to see a Agathe Christie adaptation which was really good. I love the theatre & really don't go enough, you can't beat a good play or musical.

2. I still have not made any progress with my wedding outfit... eventually I'll get round to it. I am now considerably entering the layer that is Armstrong Edinburgh to see if my imagined sequined full length brightly coloured dress is there. A girl can dream!

3. Short hair is my thing, this week I've been lusting over Mia Farrows. She just looks so good with it. I love short hair on women - maybe a bit biased on this one being a major fan...

4. I am in a major debate whether to apply for other jobs... I'm scared I'll miss my old job & really hate the new environment but I need to leave my job soon anyway, I graduate soon. Que life changing, getting scared freak out...

10 February 2013

Sunday Diary #10

1. It is weird to think that this time next year, I have no idea where I will be. I will be in a new flat, in a new job & not a student! Scary times but the not knowing is kind of exciting!

2. I have just finished watching Chasing The Saturdays - total trash TV & I love it!! Frankie was always my favourite but I think Vanessa might be slipping into the lead... She's just so fun!

3. Another Sunday Diary when I mention Jessie Ware! I was out last night & got totally over excited when they played If you're never gonna move. Hearing it in a club was just so amazing ... to the merry girl... Also her song Wildest Moments is about how she falls out with her friend a lot. My friend & I are kind of similar to this, we argue when we're drunk then we're fine the next day. Odd but it isn't serious arguing. No serious stuff. Anyone else like this with their chums?

4.I'm so tired tonight after not a lot of sleep & a 6 hour shift so bed is edging closer then it's back to the library to do more uni work. It will all be worth it in the end!

Happy Sunday!

3 February 2013

Sunday Diary #9

1. As I mentioned before I went to see Paloma Faith this week. Amazing. Her voice is incredible, she is so engaging, stylish & talented. Hello Girl Crushing! She was amazing though.

2. I am 4 days into a no alcohol detox. I have been going out for drinks a bit too much this past 2 weeks so I am trying to stay away from a cheeky alcoholic beverage till Saturday ... then I'm going on a night out! Logical.

3. Uni work is still there, sadly. I have more focus now but the 18th of April will be a joyous day then it is a hop, skip and a jump to graduation!!

4.Working in retail is waring thin. People are just so demanding & annoying. After 7 years I think my patience is waring...

Happy Sunday!

27 January 2013

Sunday Diary #8

1. This has been a funny week. I had 2 dates with a boy that were good dates but it just wasn't there. You know what I mean, no sparks. I just wasn't into it & since admitting that I don't want to be in a relationship, I feel so much better.

2. I am still to properly to start my dissertation ... eek! Library day tomorrow! Once I get started it will be fine, it is just getting started.

3. Expect more blogging. I fell out of the habit of blogging & have missed sitting down, writing a post & publishing it. Outfits galore here we come! ha!

4. I had yet another top Saturday night out, danced the night away. It was just so good! I think I am one of those people that live for the weekend these days.

20 January 2013

Sunday Diary #7

1. It is safe to say that I whole heart-idly fail at doing these weekly! I normally work a Sunday so by the time I get home, I have completely forgotten to do it but this week I am forcing myself into doing it! I want to try & make myself do them every week as it is a nice way to catch up with everything.

2. Classes start back at uni on Tuesday... 2nd semester 4th year. Eek! I can't believe how fast these 4 years have gone, it is crazy! This semester is going to be mad crazy but it will all be worth it in the end - I hope. Speaking of uni work, if you are willing to do a short online interview/focus group with me on fashion blogging then that would be massively massively appreciated as it is my dissertation topic! More to come on this soon.

3.  Music of the week has to be ... Jessie Ware! If you follow me on Twitter then you will have seen my Tweets about this lady & her new album. It is just perfection. Perfect listening. Now all I need to do is find a friend that likes her & make them come to her gig with me!

4. I went bowling on Friday night, the first time in years & it was so much fun! I'm not brilliant at it but it was fun so who cares... haha. Also had a beasting  night out last night. I totally live for the weekend.

30 December 2012

Sunday Diary #6

I totally forgot that I said a Sunday Diary post would be a weekly affair, my apologies. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas & are all preprared for the New Year!

I spent Christmas week at my mum & dad's which has been lovely so nice to relax after a busy semester at uni! I am back to Edinburgh for a few days for work & for New Year then propably back to my mum & dad's for a while.

I was having a think the other night about what my new years resolutions might be, I am thinking of going for something to do with my skincare & looking after my skin better as I can be a little lazy when it comes to skincare so I'm sure some TLC won't do any damage! I am also going to make a concious effort to add colour into my wardrobe - I wear too much black. It seems to be all I am ever in.

2013 will see me in bright clothes with cared for skin ... or that is the plan

What are everyone else's resolutions?

Sunday Diary #5

One week tomorrow at 11.45 & this semester at uni will be done. I honestly cannot wait to not have uni work to do! It has been a busy few months & I am looking forward to chilling out at home. I went out last night & saw Greg James DJ - not a particularly big fan but it was a good night, safe to say I was suffering today a little.

What did everyone else get up to?

19 November 2012

Sunday Diary #4

Seen as I totally forgot to do the Sunday Diary post yesterday we are going to live life in the crazy lane today & have the Sunday post on a ... Monday! I know, I feel like this is too much craziness as well!

I spent this weekend working & doing an extremely good job of avoiding writing my literature review section of my dissertation proposal. I plan to start it after this... promise.

What else ... I am trying to wear clothes that are a bit more form fitting as baggy clothes, to me, just make me look like a big blob! You know one of those days when you just feel really down and rubbish about yourself? Yeah, I'm having one of those ones. I have back problems & it has gotten sore again meaning I can't go to the gym which makes me feel loads better about myself so I'm going to have to just deal with it & accept that I have to take it easy & that I am not a blob! Everyone gets days like this, what are your ways to make yourself feel better? (Please, don't say go a run or I will actually weep!)

I am thinking about starting a 2nd blog for writing, I am a bit of an amateur story writer but just have them in a notebook. Let me know if anyone would be interested. It is nothing brilliant but I love doing it!

Happy Monday! x

Sunday Diary #3

*picture from my friends 22nd Birthday night out

One of these Sunday diaries I will use a picture that isn't from the night before, one day! I've had such a good weekend, yesterday was so much fun spent with my favourite people - my brother, my friends... it was so perfect. This week I need to majorly get into my uni work... 4th year is killer!

I love my River Island Disco pant dupes ... they are so comfy & so flattering. £30 well spent for sure!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
