LAURA JACKSON

Laura Jackson was an unknown to me until I stumbled upon her wardrobe tour video a couple of Sundays ago. To be honest, she still kind of is an unknown - I know she is a presenter and featured in the Tia Maria adverts but apart from that I'm a tad clueless. I digress, Ms Jackson has some good style. She mixes vintage with current and textures with details. Pieces are different without being overly 'in style' or obnoxious. Plus she has a perfect balance between designer, vintage designer and high street.

Before writing this post up, I searched through the erratic glamour archive to find out whether one Nicole Richie had actually featured as a style crush before now. She hasn't, too my surprise. I am a massive Nicole fan - her style, her playful love a carry on attitude, she's just great.

Jewel tones for evening. Ripped jeans and simple tees for daytime. The lady can do no wrong. The 3 outfits pictured each play on my senses for the beautiful colours and for the simple details. The shape of a sleeve, a cut. A chevron print - love a chevron. Nicole does effortless chic and does it to perfection.

What do you think of Nicole's style?

Lily Allen is a bit like Marmite. You love her or you don't - hate is too strong an emotion, I think - I fall into the love category - again possibly too strong an emotion... Nevertheless after watching The Brit awards last week & catching Lily's new music video, I remembered how my late teen self had a bit of a girl crush on the mouthy, bubbly pop songstress. With a collection of beautiful clothes, I figured it was only fitting that Ms Allen should feature as Style Crush Number 33 here on erratic glamour.

I have obviously chosen night time looks for our Lil' purely because they are the most common one that you find (and she does a night time glam look to perfection!)  Classic, simple pieces that have a touch of something different and eye catching. Seems to be the general summary of what I like!

What do you think of Lily Allen's style?

If I am being honest with you, Poppy Delevinge had never crossed my radar before last week. I had no interest in her or her sisters until I saw her outfit at one of the fore mentioned sisters wedding. Poppy like simple yet interesting. A simple black tshirt but with cut out detail - genius.

Style Crush #31

Emmanuelle Alt. Editor in Chief of Vogue Paris. Former fashion director. Parisian born Alt is the epitome of Parisian chic. Simple lines in muted tones makes me sigh with joy at the sight of these outfits. Nothing is ever too busy or over styled, as with previous Style Crushes, the use of textures and patterns really makes Alt a fashion lust of mine. Accessories are kept to a minimum in order to show off the clean lines and little details.

Is Emmanuelle Alt a fashion icon of yours?

Style Crush #30

The Erratic Glamour style crush crown is being given to the ever stylish Kate Foley this week. Foley is a former buyer for Opening Ceremony but has re kindle her skills as a stylist as of late. Her style is a uber cool mix of girlie and grungy. Known for her white dresses to her dressed down sneaker looks, this lady has style.

Platforms. Lady like skirts mixed with simple details - a texture, colour or pattern - just add to the effortless look without being over powering. She looks put together but not polished. A perfect combination. Before a rummage around Pinterest, I had no idea even of Kate Foley's existence but since her discovery I have been searching for the best prom shaped below the knee skirt.  And possibly a spoonful of her cool, edgy persona.

What do you think of Kate Foley?

Style Crush #29

A Style Crush post hasn't been seen on Erratic Glamour for almost a year (!!) For whatever reason this little post slipped from my conscious until I decided to have a mess about with my blog and somehow found myself sifting through post of blogging past.

Number 29 is dedicated to one, Alexa Chung.

When it comes to effortless style this lady has it down to a tee. Whether it is a casual jeans and tshirt to some denim cut offs and simple blouse or a vamped up red carpet look Alexa Chung always looks amazing. Nothing is overly fussy nor is it completely basic. A simple texture or accessory pulls the look together. The chosen outfits vary from casual, dressy casual and hands down red carpet chic. I would pick a favourite of the three but I can't/don't want to. They are all so effortless yet cool (detest that word) and stylish. Massive love for this lady - and her fabulous hairstyles.

Has anyone got her book? I am considering it seen as I appear to have developed a little girl crush!

Style Crush #28

Not quite a whole outfit or a person but the details in this look play on my senses beyond belief.

The leopard print coat with the ripped jeans & pointy heels. It is just too perfect for words. Definitely a look I would emulate - not too busy or overly styled. Just simple. Put together but with a bit of a rocky edge, I feel like Kate Moss would be right at home in this outfit?

And just another take on the look! Some more distressed less fitted jeans - both styles I think look great.

I love both looks. Can I just have both the full outfits, please?!

Style Crush #27

For this weeks Style Crush post I give you three simple yet chic outfits that all play on different aspects of what I love about clothes. The mix of patterns, colours - to an extent - and fabrics. The striped trousers, the tie dye dress & the chiffon blouse jean short combination make for three perfect outfits.

Style Crush #26

Until recently Kate Foley was a little of an unknown to me. I discovered her through my endless procrastination on Pinterest and fell in love with some of her looks. She pulls off effortless chic so well. I love the printed trousers & high wedges in this look mixed with the leather jacket & little bag. It is just so simple but glamorous. Perfect.

Style Crush #25

Elle UKs Advertisement Director, Jayne Ellis in an incredible outfit makes me beyond envious of her wardrobe. The mix of stripes and red jacket with the caged shoes - perfection. You may have guessed, I love a tailored pant & these ones are one of the best. They fit her perfectly, are flattering & just work perfectly with her outfit.

Style Crush #24

As of late I have struggled to find a celebrity who has a sense of style I love enough to want to feature so after a little think, I decided to make the Style Crush post just about one outfit be it celebrity or not!

This weeks post is an outfit I found while procrastinating. There is just something so simple yet chic about this outfit especially with the pop of red from the shoes and the lipstick and the leopard print on the belt. Perfect outfit.

Style Crush #23

I took notice of this day when I saw Josie Loves Shoes post about her style & the love affair began! Donna Wallace is Elle UK's Accessories Editor which obviously means this lady is an eye for the pretty things in life. So here are a few of my favourite looks ...

Style Crush #22

Jessie Ware. If you haven't heard her songs, go now! I will let you off this post just for that fact. She is an amazingly talented singer that has a keen eye for earrings, black & crop tops! Winning. Since listening to her new album & doing a little bit of research into who she is I am fallen right into girl crush territory.  Love love love!

Style Crush #21

Nicola Roberts has blossomed into a style icon in the last few years, the ugly duckling - not that she even came close to ugly before - has well & truly become the beautiful swan. Her style has evolved to make her a stylish, chic lady.  For these reasons Ms Roberts is this weeks Style Crush!

Style Crush #20

This weeks Style Crush post is taking a more specific topic, the topic being ... dinner suit!

I am a big fan of androgynous dressing, women in suits with perfect tailoring screams to me beautiful. A woman that can pull of androgyny is deemed classy, beautiful and a true women in my books! Don't get me wrong, a beautiful evening dress is a glorious sight & given the opportunity to wear one I would no doubt jump at the chance but tailoring has a very special - and big - place in my heart. So much so I asked for a substantial amount of tailoring in for my Christmas from Santa. (At 23, I know Santa Claus is in fact not real but my bus driver yesterday looked suspiciously like him so I was extra nice just incase he was in fact Santa in disguise. I digress)

A few of my favourites include Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss & Blake Lively giving the traditional suit a bit of colour. I have to admit I favour a black dinner suit over a colour particularly one with mixed textures - velvet & satin to name a couple - but the red is gorgeous.

A Bloggers take on the dinner suit ...

Arabella  wears this beautiful printed dinner suit beautifully. I love everything about this outfit - the print, the earrings, the blouse. Everything - it is just so well put together & pulled off perfectly.

What do you think of dinner suits? What one is your favorite?

Style Crush #19

As I mentioned in last weeks Style Crush post, Stella McCartney's style has caught my attention recently. Her mix of patterns & textures appeals to my senses beyond belief. Her style isn't overly fussy - always gets a gold star from me - and she always always looks put together & stylish. I also love here use of electric blue the coat & patterned suit are so stunning words cannot describe. Big love For Ms McCartney.

As a side note, I have an exam in uni which I am not looking forward to so I won't be posting probably till Monday afternoon or Tuesday as I really need to focus & right now my focus is out the window so I will see you all on the other side! Have good weekends!

Style Crush #18

This weeks Style Crush post features my 2 favourite looks from the Style Awards this week.

 Gemma Arterton

 Stella McCartney

*All images from Google

Gemma Arterton & Stella McCartney are my favourites from the Brittish Fashion Awards this year. Everything about their looks is very simple - something I like - yet stylish & put together.

Gemma Arterton's black cut off blazer & pants showed off her beautiful figure to perfection plus she added some fierce (I can't pull off saying that word, my apologises) shoes. Everything about it just screams classic, stylish & chic.

Stella McCartney is someone who I have looked at her designs & loved but never considered her personal style up until this point. This jumpsuit is amazing. It has a feel of it shouldn't work about it due it's baggy shape but it works so well it cannot be put into words. The added sparkle on the side & the simple black flats - perfection. So much perfection in fact that I have wasted a little too much time searching through style photos of the lady herself!
