Courts free.

Since finishing university I have used the 'you worked hard at uni, you deserve a treat' excuse too many times. I will hold my hands up and admit that. On a recent trip to Zara Glasgow I couldn't say no to these gorgeous white skirt-shorts. I have seen them on a few bloggers & love the look they give - put together but not too fussy. At £23.99 they are a bargain & will go with so much for day or night!

How bloggers have worn it...

I love seeing how other style a piece which is part of the reason for my love for the fashion blogging community. This said I had a quick Google of the Zara skirt short - actually what I googled and selected a few for a little montage. Everyone loves a montage, no?

Hopefully the weather perks up a little so I can actually wear this - these?! - little beauty soon.

PS ... courts free is in reference to the belief that this looks a bit like a tennis skirt!

Re-trench

I wore this for uni & shopping one day but looking back on it, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I feel very Caroline Flack in it... ankle boots, collared shirt & trench coat. This Topshop swing hemmed coat was an impulse buy about 4 years ago, I had not worn it in a long, long time but decided to pull it out. I love trench coats *dreams of a Burberry* they are so classic & perfect to wear anytime.

Trench coat: Topshop - So old, it's vintage ;)
Shirt: H&M
Jeans: Topshop
Ankle Boots: New Look
Bag: Topshop

It feels like all I am doing the last week or so is get up, go to the library, come home, go to bed, get up, go to the library, come home... you catch my drift! This is my library outfit from today, pretty simple as there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable while chuffing through piles of literature that you have to review! These velvet shorts from Tophop were such a good sale buy, I've worn them so much during the day & at night.  I wore them with a simple black tshirt from H&M with my gold River Island watch & a few different gold rings. I wore my EBay find Safaria jacket, Topshop fur gilet & Topshop boots. Pretty simple.

I have been finding it hard to find time to blog recently as I've been so busy but I am trying hard to make time for it as I miss doing it.

Finally I am back with a post featuring pictures I actually took! Life just got busy recently and blogging fell to the bottom of the list for a little while.

On Tuesday night I went to see Paloma Faith which was amazing. Her voice is unbelievable. Truly truly stunning. I wanted to get a little dressed up, it is Paloma Faith after all, but not overly dressed up so I went for my Velvet suit. Caroline Flack suit is also another name for this one. I got the Zara Velvet blazer for Christmas  & the shorts in the Topshop sale. The quality in the velvet differs greatly but to the eye you can't tell at all. With a simple black cami from ASOS, some New Look shoe boots & my little Topshop bag I was good to go. If you ever get the chance to see Paloma Faith live GO!

Style Crush #23

I took notice of this day when I saw Josie Loves Shoes post about her style & the love affair began! Donna Wallace is Elle UK's Accessories Editor which obviously means this lady is an eye for the pretty things in life. So here are a few of my favourite looks ...

Check it

As of recent, something has changed in my mind in that I now realise baggy clothes do little to nothing for my figure. I have boobs - not massively huge ones but they aren't fried eggs either - and I have a noticeable bump in the trunk, which I should add I am a great fan of when I workout. Squats and bum exercises are my friend. This said, I am making a conscious effort to wear clothes that don't drown me & make me look shapeless!

These bea-utiful checked trousers were a Christmas present from my big brother & I love them. I lusted after them for so long that when I finally got them I squealed with joy. They are texture - winning - and super duper stretchy - winning, yet again - making them not only eye & touch friendly but they are wearer friendly as well. What more can a girl ask for really! I should have worn them with my boots however I mean who decides to wear bare feet & pumps in January!

Top & bracelet - H&M

Just playing around

I mentioned these H&M trousers in an earlier post - link - I was debating whether to keep them or not as I wasn't sure about them but after an afternoon spent playing about with them I have come to the conclusion, I need them in my life. I have them on with my H&M fluffy jumper which has been a staple for me this autumn and winter but I think the trousers could look amazing dressed down with a simple tshirt, possibly my fur filet & some chunky boots.

£10 well spent I would say! H&M sale is so good at the moment, loads of good stuff to snap up.

Style Crush #20

This weeks Style Crush post is taking a more specific topic, the topic being ... dinner suit!

I am a big fan of androgynous dressing, women in suits with perfect tailoring screams to me beautiful. A woman that can pull of androgyny is deemed classy, beautiful and a true women in my books! Don't get me wrong, a beautiful evening dress is a glorious sight & given the opportunity to wear one I would no doubt jump at the chance but tailoring has a very special - and big - place in my heart. So much so I asked for a substantial amount of tailoring in for my Christmas from Santa. (At 23, I know Santa Claus is in fact not real but my bus driver yesterday looked suspiciously like him so I was extra nice just incase he was in fact Santa in disguise. I digress)

A few of my favourites include Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss & Blake Lively giving the traditional suit a bit of colour. I have to admit I favour a black dinner suit over a colour particularly one with mixed textures - velvet & satin to name a couple - but the red is gorgeous.

A Bloggers take on the dinner suit ...

Arabella  wears this beautiful printed dinner suit beautifully. I love everything about this outfit - the print, the earrings, the blouse. Everything - it is just so well put together & pulled off perfectly.

What do you think of dinner suits? What one is your favorite?
