Courts free.

Since finishing university I have used the 'you worked hard at uni, you deserve a treat' excuse too many times. I will hold my hands up and admit that. On a recent trip to Zara Glasgow I couldn't say no to these gorgeous white skirt-shorts. I have seen them on a few bloggers & love the look they give - put together but not too fussy. At £23.99 they are a bargain & will go with so much for day or night!

How bloggers have worn it...

I love seeing how other style a piece which is part of the reason for my love for the fashion blogging community. This said I had a quick Google of the Zara skirt short - actually what I googled and selected a few for a little montage. Everyone loves a montage, no?

Hopefully the weather perks up a little so I can actually wear this - these?! - little beauty soon.

PS ... courts free is in reference to the belief that this looks a bit like a tennis skirt!

Rock & Roll my little girl

I used to wear jean shorts all the time but recently well since about October I wear them very rarely. It is a bit of a waste really seen as I have six or so pairs...

Que an afternoon in the Arctic conditions of the library & a need for layers to keep warm. The perfect time to wear my much loved black 'fluffy' jumper from H&M with some extra cosy tights (two pairs, naturally) & these lace detailed Zara shorts, bought last summer on a whim. They are pretty short shorts or my buttocks is on the fuller side ... I guess it is a mix of both. Shapely derrieres are so in, ya know!!

I am beyond fed up of library trips, uni has been an amazing experience. One that I have loved but to not have deadlines looming will be a treat & a half! I know I will pine for uni days constantly when it finally comes to a close but for now that shiny big bad world is calling my name...

Finally I am back with a post featuring pictures I actually took! Life just got busy recently and blogging fell to the bottom of the list for a little while.

On Tuesday night I went to see Paloma Faith which was amazing. Her voice is unbelievable. Truly truly stunning. I wanted to get a little dressed up, it is Paloma Faith after all, but not overly dressed up so I went for my Velvet suit. Caroline Flack suit is also another name for this one. I got the Zara Velvet blazer for Christmas  & the shorts in the Topshop sale. The quality in the velvet differs greatly but to the eye you can't tell at all. With a simple black cami from ASOS, some New Look shoe boots & my little Topshop bag I was good to go. If you ever get the chance to see Paloma Faith live GO!

Style Crush #23

I took notice of this day when I saw Josie Loves Shoes post about her style & the love affair began! Donna Wallace is Elle UK's Accessories Editor which obviously means this lady is an eye for the pretty things in life. So here are a few of my favourite looks ...

I don't want to live my life without you

Fluffy jumper take two. I am so pleased parted with the £14.99 for this jumper, it just works so well with what I already have in my wardrobe. I haven't worn cut off shorts in so long partly because I haven't been to the gym for about 2 months but tonight I was feeling fearless so donned the infamous Levi cut offs - the people that care don't matter & the people that matter don't care echoing in my head I trotted off down the road to the pictures to see The Perks of being a Wallflower.

Jumper - H&M
Shorts - Miss Selfridge re-done section

Style Crush #11

She may not be everyone's cup of tea in Made in Chelsea but personalities & opinions on such aside, the girl has style!

Rosie Fortescue mixes designer & high street to perfection. Along side a mixture of  textures, patterns & colours. Everything is pretty simple but styled to perfection & kept interesting through accessories including hats, handbags, jewellery & sunglasses.

My favourites have to be oufit 3, outfit 4 & outfit 5 ... or all of them! What is your favourite?

Style Crush #10

I think, don't quote me, that Ashley is in these pictures. I think, I find it extremely hard to tell them apart! Nonetheless the Olsen twins have the perfect mix of high fashion, boho & grunge to their style. Ashley, I feel, is the more put together twin with Mary Kate having a touch more 'grunge'. Whatever the opinion,  both styles I can't fault. They grew up in the spotlight & have 100% grown into their own styles in recent year. They own numerous successful fashion brands - they have to be stylish!

Style Crush #9

The Style Crush series of posts could not be done without featuring Olivia Palermo at one point. This lady has the most elegant, beautiful style that is accessorized to perfection. I think I might have to feature her day time looks in this post & do a separate post on her night time looks as there are so many that I love so keep an eye out for Style Crush Olivia Palermo part 2!

Her style has relaxed a lot since her days in The City but current Palermo or Retro the girl can not do wrong. With her perfectly styled hair, red nails & drop dead gorgeous wardrobe there is no question she is a style crush!

Simplicity

Simplicity is something I have been drawn to recently particularly in clothes. Simple pieces teamed with a print or a beautiful textured fabric are screaming out to me more and more at the moment. While browsing through Tumblr - my link is here - I came across these three shots, fell in love with them & re-blogged them double quick. I actually think all the pieces would work well together basically there is 4 outfits from the pieces. This Autumn/winter I am definitely investing in some nice knitwear!

I hope someday we'll meet again.

Wearing: New Look top, River Island shorts, H&M belt, Tesco bag, Rings Ebay & Accessorize, Bracelets A mix, Sunglasses Ebay

I was all set to go chill in the park today in the sunshine then as soon as I stepped outside it rained! Typical. Instead of chilling in the sunshine I changed my room about, I love doing this. I do it so much! My style is changing a little bit recently, it is getting a little more relaxed & I am kind of loving it. I am also loving my new little above the knuckle rings from Ebay, they add a nice little touch of interest.

I am on a major major spending ban as I realised today I am skinter than a skint thing! Not good. I get paid a week on Friday so I am pretty much spending the week going to the gym, reading & on the interweb - basically no nights out or shopping. Boo hoo!

Style Crush #7

Pixie Lott can be hit & miss with her style but then again can't we all ... She is a lover of getting her legs out & why wouldn't she - her legs are amazing! Pixie has a nice mix of girly & edgy which I love especially with her blonde hair & lined eye - we all know this is a favourite look of mine! Her style has defenitly changed since she first came to fame becoming a little more grown up & less boho, girly.

Wandering.

I am wearing: Gap Evening jacket . H&M Tshirt . Levi Shorts via Miss Selfridge . Zara bag & heels . River Island Watch . Accessorize Love ring . 17 Hot Chilli lipstick

I really need to incorporate more trousers into my day to day wardrobe, I always seem to reach for shorts! It used to be shorts or dresses constantly, shorts now hold the baton. Todays short of choice were my dark denim wash Levi shorts with a simple off white v neck from H&M & my black evening jacket which I love but is a touch too big for me now. I am doing nothing special today just going wandering! I love wandering, leaving the house & just going wherever my feet take me. In the city it is fun as you could end up finding something amazing that you didn't even know existed. Edinburgh is such a beautiful city too. After three years here I would say in winter time or on a really bright, sunny day the city is at its most beautiful. One thing I believe about wandering is that you must do it headphone-less. Just listening to the noise of everyday life flying by. I love this. I for one definitely spend too much time with headphones in blocking out the noises of real life, sometimes it is nice to escape but sometimes you need to just listen. I am not sure how I feel about this lip colour with my hair which isn't styled too well today! Let me know what you think. Happy Wednesday & wandering!

White, denim & lace

This was an outfit I planned in my head that actually came out how I hoped. I love it when that happens, it doesn't happen very often. I wore the outfit with my orange clutch & chunky heeled Dorothy Perkins heels. I kept the jewellery really simple just my 'love' ring & my gold River Island watch.

I can definitely see myself wearing this blouse/shirt a lot. It is a really simple basic piece but 100% a staple.

Blouse H&M . Shorts Zara . Orange clutch H&M .
